The Last Year

This year is officially my final year in college. It's pretty scary but exciting at the same time. College has honestly been such an amazing experience so far. I've met amazing people and learned a lot. For my last year, I wanted to set up goals for myself to really make the most of it. I've asked a lot of mentors and managers for advice as someone who is graduating soon. All of them always say, "Enjoy your time in college. Make the most of your last year." And that I will.

Here are some goals for my last year in college:

Work less, Play more

For the past three years, I've been working hard on school and getting internships. But this year, I want to focus on things I like to do. That includes lifting, blogging, making Youtube videos, etc. I've been putting those on hold because I've been so focused on my academic and professional career. I think I've deserved a little break from the grind (still grinding though!).

Get out there

To be honest, I'm a lazy person. I love just chilling out at the apartment with my friends and watching a movie. This year I want to be more down to do different things. I want to be a "yes" woman. Happy Hour on a Monday? Why not? It's my senior year. I'm really trying to live that "YOLO" life. I'm trying to go to all the events at Rutgers and fulfill my Rutgers Bucket List. I just want to immerse myself in the full college experience.

Explore the world

This is such a cliche goal but this is the perfect time to travel. Once I'm out of school, I'm not going to have these long vacations and Fridays off. It's going to be a rough transition. My last year is the perfect time to travel. I have saved up money from my internships and my course load isn't as intensive as my past three years.

Worry less

This goal kind of ties in with my first goal. Graduating is stressful. There are so many aspects to think about. Am I on the path to graduating? What do I need to graduate? Senior pictures? Am I trying to cruise with classes or take on harder classes? And the biggest question of them all is: What am I going to do after college? I've gained to realize that graduating is scary but I'm just going to go with the flow. I'll keep applying for jobs but I'm not going to kill myself over it. It will happen when it happens. I have a specific career path I want to take and it might take time for me to get there. That's why I want to be able to worry less about it. I understand that the field I'm going into is super competitive so I'm just going to see what opportunities come my way.

Senior year is honestly the year to take advantage of. You will never have the opportunities you have during senior year ever again. One thing I know for sure is that I will regret nothing. I think that's the best way to live your last year in college. If you are a senior in college, what are some of your goals for your last year?

Note To Self: You've been applying for jobs and have been getting interviews. You'll do fine.
